As we promised, here they are. The first exclusive photos of DD
at Hammersmith Palais!
Our reporter Liana describes to us her experience with Duran Duran.
"After queuing all day, the security at the Hammersmith Palais finally
opened the doors at 6.30pm. I rushed to the stage and to my surprise
I managed to be in the first row just in front of Simon.
The concert started just after 8pm and they opened with "Finest
Hour". The whole audience danced and singed along. They then
played “Hungry Life The Wolf” and to everybody's surprise
a golden oldie, "Hold Back The Rain"!
They alternated their new stuff from "Astronaut" with old favourites
like "Ordinary World", “Save a Prayer” and
“Notorious” (medley con “We Are Family”).
After singing "The Wild Boys" they went off stage and
everyone started stamping their feet for ancores. We didn't have
to wait long! They came back out and played "Girls on Film"
and "Rio".
The whole show lasted just under 2 hours, and
it was memorable! I waited for them to come out but it was 1985
all over again. Women throwing themselves at them screaming and
bodyguards everywhere.
So I didn't even have the chance to say hi.
But I shook Nick's hand when, at the end of the concert, I waived
at him, he recognised me, smiled and grabbed my hand. He's sooo
NICE! And I'm a Simon's fan!!" |
