Last Friday (April 15th), I was completely burnt out but still extremely thrilled from the whole Duran Duran week. I eventually planned to crash on the couch and just relax. I decided though to take another look at my pictures from the MSG and the QT party.
All suddenly my cell phone rang and it was my friend Donata which I knew being out for dinner with another friend, Francesca. I heard then Donata saying: “We are at the Mercer Kitchen and Francesca just came back from the ladies room saying that she saw Simon Le Bon!! (Actually, it’s Nick Rhodes)”.
Obviously, I decided to get immediately dressed and running out with the Astronaut.it T-shirts! While I was driving like a maniac, I called back Donata and I asked her to go to Nick’s table and saying: “Hi Nick, sorry to bother you but I have somebody on the phone, that you have met, who would like to speak with you for a minute”
AFTER 3 SECONDS OF SILENCE… I HEARD “HELLO”… NICK RHODES WAS ON THE PHONE WITH ME! HOW COOL WAS THAT ???
We honestly spoke for a couple of minutes and, as always, he was extremely nice. I also invited him to join me to a party of a friend but, although that he would have loved to come, he had to wake up the morning after really early to catch his flight back to the UK...
Not too long after we hung up the phone, I finally arrived to the destination and, walking down the stairs, I noticed that Nick was still there. Obviously, I said hi and I shook his hand and I also gave him the T-shirts (gift for the Boys from the Community of Astronaut.it).
It wouldn’t be appropriate to bother him and his guests – Meredith (his fiancée) and a friend of his – asking to take a picture so I jointed my friends at the adjacent table.
Only a few minutes later, Francesca could take a picture of Nick (here below), while he was leaving the restaurant for going to his Hotel room.

THE EMOTIONS ARE NEVER ENDING!!!
