I
can tell you that I was very lucky to see Duran Duran performing
live (for the first 3 nights), in such a beautiful and charming
place, the Barrymore Theatre, in Broadway.
The atmosphere is pretty magical and the gigs are wonderful:
the perfect acoustics of the theatre, the cosy venue, the
nearby stage and to be in New York City... (from Milan, Italy,
just to see Duran Duran).
The guys are in very good form, Simon hottest and coolest
than ever!
The
show is divided in 2 parts. They open the concert playing
"The valley", and then all the songs from RCM, relly
a great record!
There are dance and powerful songs such as "The valley",
"Rcm", "Nite runner", "Tempted",
"Skin divers" and sweet ballads: "She's too
much", "Falling down", "Box full o' honey"
(one of my favourite).
After a break they start again with a seductive all synthesizer
electo set.
The Boys are all dressed in black suit, simply gorgeous, and
they play super electro-dance versions of "Last chance
on the stairway", "All she wants is" and the
superb "I don't want your love".
Then the classic hits: "Notorious", "A view
to a kill", "Sunrise" and, as the encore, "Girls
on film", with all the people dancing.
At
the second night Moby is there (he enjoys himself a lot),
T.V. and reporters are there, and Donald Trump is there too!
It's a big celebrities night in New York City!
The
third show is absolutely the best. The audience is really
great, we dance and sing, we see all the concert standing
and dancing.
The guys notice it and they "give it all": they
are fantastic, John and Simon are really inspired and wild.
There's a lot of energy in the air: a fabulous night!!!
John starts talking, telling us how sometimes they discuss
for hours to choose the songs to play and so he introduces
"Do you believe in shame?". Wow, incredible! I've
not been listening to that song live since 1988! I'm completely
moved and touched! Wow!!!
They end the performance with "Girls on film" and
they send the audience into ecstasy!
These
concerts prove that Duran Duran are really a unified group
and they play with passion!
They're simply great! Also Dom Brown gets on well with the
band, that's good!
Duran Duran move people, it's amazing, they're fenomenal!
They still give us emotions that we can't forget, that's why
we must thank and love them forever.
Cheers!!!
